On 31 May 2025, ASAF members and Co-Ambassadors came together in Marrakech, Morocco, for a full day of training aimed at strengthening their skills in project management, advocacy, and leadership. The event, held at the El Andalous Hotel, brought together participants from North Africa region to enhance their capacity to plan, implement, and promote meaningful projects that contribute to positive change in their communities.

The training was designed to support ASAF members to promote ASAF and EU/AU mobility programmes, such as Erasmus+, the Nyerere Scholarship Scheme, Intra-Africa, and Intra-ACP Academic Mobility Schemes.

The agenda included:

  • Fundamentals of Project Management: covering project life cycles, logical frameworks, and alternative approaches like Theory of Change and Agile.
  • Project Planning Tools: focusing on budgeting, timelines (using GANTT), risk management, and role distribution.
  • Advocacy Strategies: offering insights on actor mapping, power dynamics, and how to create support for projects.
  • Leadership for Impactful Projects: providing guidance on team building and collaborative leadership using methods such as InterVision.
