International Mobilities: A Great Opportunity, Seminar held at the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques Fes, Morocco

Seminar held on 25 April at the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques, Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah U, Fes (Morocco), showcases scholarships, student experiences, and international cooperation

On 25 April 2025, the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques in Fes, Morocco, hosted a seminar titled “International Mobilities: A Great Opportunity”, bringing together students, researchers, and academic staff to exchange knowledge and explore pathways for academic mobility and international cooperation. 

The seminar featured insightful contributions from several speakers representing Moroccan and European universities. Professor Lahcen Benaabidate opened the session with an overview of major accessible mobility programs, followed by Dr. Najiba El Amrani El Idrissi, who introduced the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions as a means to support research talent and international collaboration. 

Nada Joumar from the University of Abdelmalek Essaadi, Tetouan, shared her experience with Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM), including practical procedures, intercultural learning, and the role of alumni networks in enhancing student support. She also presented the mission of the African Students and Alumni Forum (ASAF) in connecting and empowering African alumni across borders. 

Soumaya Nabih from the University of Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah, Fes, presented the Fulbright Co-supervision Scholarship, offering valuable insights into the application process and academic benefits of co-supervised doctoral research abroad. 

From the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Andrei Titus Radovici discussed the evolution and prospects of atmospheric remote sensing in Cluj-Napoca, while Camelia-Sabina Botezan provided an overview of study programmes and research opportunities available at the university. 

The seminar created a dynamic platform for learning, dialogue, and inspiration. It highlighted the transformative potential of international mobility for academic development and intercultural exchange, and encouraged students to engage actively with the many opportunities available to them.
