EU-Zambia at 50: Shaping the future at Mulungushi University
ASAF-Committee on Mobility, Diversity and Inclusion was well represented by Ruth Nawakwi and Misheck Samakao at Mulungushi University on 21 May 2025, alongside the European Union Ambassador to Zambia.
On 21 May, Misheck Samakao and Ruth Nawakwi had the incredible honour of representing the ASAF-Committee on Mobility, Diversity and Inclusion at the EU-Zambia@50 commemorative event, held at Mulungushi University, Zambia.
A key highlight was a presentation on Erasmus+ Scholarships and EU grant opportunities, highlighting the immense potential these programmes hold for young Zambians to explore academic and cultural exchanges across Europe. The enthusiasm of over 250 students, university staff, and management was evident as they engaged in discussions on mobility, inclusion, and the life-changing experiences offered by the EU.
Special thanks to EU Ambassador Karolina Stasiak for her keynote address, “Half a Century of EU-Zambia Relations: A Legacy of Partnership.” Her words on diplomacy, youth empowerment, education, and climate action deeply resonated with all present.
This milestone event, part of the #EUZambia@50 campaign, truly reflected the power of collaboration and a collective vision for a more inclusive, democratic, and sustainable future.
