The new call for the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme has just been published!
The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme is the EU’s programme to encourage international learning mobility across the African continent by providing support for consortia of African Higher Education Institutions and scholarship opportunities for African trainees, students and staff, and to contribute to the economic, social and human development of Africa. The action is part of the ‘Youth Mobility for Africa’ flagship under the EU-Africa Global Gateway Investment Package which aims to support learning opportunities and exchanges and, ultimately, to promote Africa as an attractive study destination.
By paying specific attention to a more equal and inclusive learning mobility for all, the programme will support mobility projects focusing, amongst other subjects, on the areas linked to climate change and green transitioning, in line with the EU’s external policies. The programme will provide financial support to consortia of Higher Education Institutions for the organisation and implementation of mobility of students (at master's and doctoral levels), trainees and staff, across the African continent, and for the implementation of related institutional activities.
The specific objectives of the programme are to:
- Promote inclusive learning mobility opportunities, with a focus on the participation of women and on climate change;
- Increase the employability and entrepreneurship of higher education students and trainees, specifically in green jobs;
- Improve the quality, relevance, internationalisation and climate change focus of higher education in Africa.
PLEASE NOTE: This call aims at selecting intra-Africa mobility projects to be implemented by consortia of African universities. It is not directed at individual students. The calls targeting the students will be issued by the successful universities subsequently.
The call is open to all themes/subject areas relevant to the programme's objectives. An established percentage of indicatively 40% of the selected projects will address the thematic fields related to environment and climate change with a focus on adaptation and mitigation.
Deadline to apply: 15 June 2023, 17:00 Brussels time
