The African Students and Alumni Forum (ASAF) successfully held its local promotional event titled “Erasmus+ in Tunisia: Your Gateway to Global Education and Opportunities” at the Higher Institute of Biotechnology of Monastir, Tunisia, on 29 September 2025.
The event opened with welcoming remarks from Professor Mohamed Amine Zaouali, Director of the Institute, and Professor Hedi Ben Mansour, ASAF Co-Ambassador for Tunisia.
Representing the ASAF Board, Ms Nada Joumar delivered an insightful presentation introducing ASAF, its mission, and its role within the Erasmus+ Student and Alumni Alliance (ESAA).
A panel discussion followed, providing participants with a comprehensive overview of the various Erasmus+ scholarship opportunities available to Tunisian students. The session also featured a presentation from EURAXESS Tunisia, highlighting its free services that support students, researchers, and academics in their international mobility and career development.
Participants had the opportunity to hear testimonials from ASAF members who shared their Erasmus+ experiences and the personal and professional impact of the programme. The event concluded with a practical workshop guiding students through the step-by-step process of applying for Erasmus+ scholarships, including useful links and tips to strengthen their applications.
This initiative reflects ASAF’s ongoing commitment to promoting Erasmus+ opportunities and strengthening connections between alumni, students, and educational institutions across Africa.
