ASAF at OCEANS AGM 2025

ASAF took part in the OCEANS Network AGM and Conference in Stockholm (20–21 June 2025), presenting its achievements and calling for stronger cooperation among ESAA sister networks.

On 20–21 June 2025, the African Students and Alumni Forum (ASAF) actively participated in the OCEANS Network Annual General Meeting and Conference, held in Stockholm, Sweden, under the theme Empowering Futures: How International Mobility Enhances Employability and Skills Development”. The two-day event brought together youth leaders and alumni networks to reflect on the future of international mobility and the role of alumni in driving positive change.

ASAF was represented by Nada Joumar, ASAF Board Member, who took part in the ESAA sister networks panel titled ESAA Networks in Action: Building Synergies for the Future”. In her intervention, she showcased the key milestones ASAF has achieved over the years, particularly highlighting impactful projects that were developed in collaboration with the OCEANS Network. These included initiatives that promoted mobility awareness and alumni engagement across different regions in Africa. The panel offered ASAF a platform to highlight the importance of long-term cooperation between sister networks.

Throughout the conference, participants engaged in interactive sessions such as World Café discussions, brainstorming labs, and skills development workshops. These activities created space for exchanging ideas on how to make mobility more accessible and impactful, especially in today’s changing global context.

ASAF’s participation in the OCEANS AGM showed its strong commitment to working together within the ESAA framework. It was a chance to strengthen existing partnerships and explore new opportunities. ASAF looks forward to continuing its collaboration with OCEANS, and aims to build connections with other sister networks to support shared goals in international education.
