After earning a bachelor's degree in business law and a master's degree in private law from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Marième received an Erasmus Mundus scholarship that enabled her to pursue a master's degree in corporate legal counsel at the University of Leon (Spain) in 2015.
Upon returning to Senegal, she continued her studies alongside her work, obtaining certifications and a master's degree in oil and gas management from Kedge Business School. After more than 10 years of experience in project management, human resources, and legal services in private companies, NGOs, and consulting, she began a career change in July 2025, becoming a civil service administrator trainee at the National School of Administration of Senegal.
She has served as ASAF Co-Ambassador in Senegal since December 2021 and coordinated ASAF's first pilot project in 2022. Since then, she has joined the Internal Affairs Task Force and carried out several projects. She also served as Regional Coordinator for West Africa from September 2023 to May 2025, coordinating several activities in various countries.
Being co-ambassador of ASAF in Senegal is more than a job for her, it's a mission, a priesthood. She's used to saying in her Erasmus pitches that ASAF has enabled her to "fay naar bi xoromam" (a Wolof expression meaning "to give back). ASAF gives her the opportunity to pass on information to the generations after her, so that young people can train abroad and breathe new life into their careers.
